The Role:
We are seeking a talented Artist with strong proficiency in Maya and Blender, and a solid foundation in texturing and UV mapping workflows. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical execution, creating visually compelling 3D assets and interactive experiences that help visualize complex data concepts across web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and optimizing 3D models and textures for real-time web and mobile performance.
- Contributing to the visual and technical evolution of the world, ensuring our tools keep pace with an ever-expanding ecosystem of environments, systems, and usability needs.
- Working end-to-end as a generalist artist, from initial concept art and asset creation through deployment for web and mobile applications.
- Documenting workflows, technical requirements, and best practices to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across teams.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a technical artist working on web or mobile applications, either in a studio role or live production environment.
- Demonstrated experience taking 3D projects from concept through production and deployment.
- Strong proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting, with working knowledge of tools like Maya and Blender.
- Understanding of texturing workflows and UV mapping techniques.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software: Figma, Adobe Suite or equivalent tools.
- A fundamental understanding of web development and how the art pipeline can support the development process.
- Experience supporting a 3D art pipeline with shader development and implementation of assets for real-time rendering.
- Portfolio demonstrating technical art skills, 3D modeling, texturing, and shader work.
- A growth mindset and willingness to take on new challenges, absorb feedback, and develop new skills.
- A collaborative, respectful attitude with a desire to contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.
- Enthusiasm for joining a small, fast-moving team where adaptability and curiosity are key to success.
Extra Points:
- Experience with shader development using GLSL, HLSL, or node-based shader editors.
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Hands-on experience with THREE.js and WebGL for web-based 3D rendering.
- Experience with mobile app development or cross-platform optimization.
